    A. Introductory Activity
    Teacher will present some the differences between 1840s and the 21st century through a multimedia presentation (either power point or web based design). Students will see differences in housing, clothing, music, Christmas, holiday, etc.
    B. Enabling Activity
    Students will be exposed to different types of areas to research through the anticipatory set.

    Either in small groups or individual, the class will begin brainstorming all the different areas to research for this project. Students will be asked to complete project intent paper, which will list group members, topic selection for research, and method of presentation. See attachment file under Project Intent Page

    Using the internet web page, students will research various web sites. Also, students will research at the local library as well as teacher provided resources for this topic.
    2. Students will compile examples that demonstrate the comparison and contrast of their selected topic (s). Students will be expected to compare at least three areas.
    Culminating Activity
    1. Students will create a presentation depicting the similarities and differences between holiday traditions from A chirstmas Carol and one modern day holiday tradition.
